No. I'm not going to Kyoto. It all became too hard, especially since my local ticketing office doesn't handle Shinkansen (Bullet Train) tickets over the New Year period. And it was going to be expensive, even with the cheap accommodation we were hoping to line up.

So I guess I'll go to Kyoto another time. It's not as if I've run out of things to do in Tokyo. (Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll manage to spend just as much money in other, less productive ways.)

[Ideas]

Travel possibilities include:

- Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Hiroshima, with maybe a brief excursion up to Himeji.

- South Korea

- Beijing or Shanghai

- New York City

How will I decide? I'm talking near-future.
