[Hanoi, Hong Kong, Kyoto, Seoul]

Anyone who reads this section may have noticed that lately I've not had much to say on the topic of travel.

There is a reason – as much as I want to, I just cannot make travel plans until I have effected the Melbourne move and have some concept of my place in the working world. The delay is sapping my spirit, but that's the way it has to be for now. Even the snow trip in July is looking unlikely, and it grieves me to think that I might miss the ski season.

Yet there is a positive side to all of this, because I have time to research and plan. Asia is just so accessible from here, and while ranging from extremely affordable to cripplingly expensive, it still remains a massively tempting destination. The good thing is that the region can easily be visited on the way to and from other places, so if I get myself over to New York by the end of the year I might be able to stop off in Tokyo en route. But I mustn't get my hopes up!
